Wind generation exceeds gas in UK quarterly mix for the third time

Wind output (17.9 TWh) exceeded gas-fired generation (16.8 TWh) in Q2 2025 — the third quarter in which wind has overtaken gas. Renewables reached a record 54.5% of generation, fossil fuels a record low 26.7%.
