Viking Link interconnector enters commercial operation (UK–Denmark, 1.4 GW)

Viking Link, the world's longest land-and-subsea HVDC interconnector at 765 km, entered commercial operation on 29 December 2023 between Lincolnshire and South Jutland. Rated at 1,400 MW; initially operated at reduced capacity pending Danish 400 kV grid expansion.
