UK lifts de facto ban on new onshore wind in England

Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced on 8 July 2024 that the de facto onshore wind ban in England — created by 2015 NPPF tests requiring sole-objector veto — was ended same-day. Plans confirmed to consult on returning large onshore wind to the NSIP regime.
