Hinkley Point C contract signed (final investment decision)

Government and EDF signed the final contract for the UK's first new nuclear power station for a generation. £18bn project value; expected to provide 7% of Britain's electricity for 60 years. The deal set the 35-year CfD framework that defined subsequent UK low-carbon contracts.
