Drax ends commercial coal generation

Drax ceased commercial coal generation 31 Mar 2021 — four years ahead of the 2025 target — completing conversion to biomass and gas. At peak Drax was the UK's largest single coal consumer (~9 Mt/yr, ~7% of UK electricity). Left only Ratcliffe-on-Soar and West Burton A operating.
